I love this image as reflecting pure summer pleasure — relaxing on a hot day in a comfy rope hammock — daydreaming about the latest acquisition of ephemera! In this creative stationery design, the tree is made from rope, the company’s name is written in rope, and, of course, the central image, a rope hammock, contains a very relaxed and curvaceous occupant. We note that a Fire Company has purchased Manila Bolt Rope, for $11.48 — and on the reverse, the date, July 29, 1897. Letterheads are historic, fascinating, and, like this one, entertaining!
